In fact, that’s how we got started in monitors. Because Mike Boland worked at a television station, he knew that in production environments, you don’t have time to go through menus to get to what you need. You need quick access, a button or knob that’s available at a moment’s notice. When a customer came to Mike and said, “I need a system with a display element like those new seat-back screens in Pan Am first-class seats,” he started offering the first flat-panel color LCD screens in the broadcast industry.

Since then, Boland monitors have come a long way. The US Marine Corps has an old saying, “On the land, on the sea, in the air.” Boland adds to that with “under the sea and in outer space.” Our monitors are used from the depths of the world’s oceans to the far reaches of space, and everywhere in between. Boland monitors are on display at The White House, 9/11 Memorial, The Smithsonian, the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, the Pentagon, and many more hallowed halls. At each Super Bowl in recent years, typically more than 1,000 Boland monitors are in use.
